Furniture Used in Decorating a Romantic Bedroom
French style furniture appeals to many when decorating a romantic bedroom. Armoires, chaise longues, love seats and ottomans are all used in the bedroom. Furniture painted with florals, ribbons, nymphs and fairies fit into this decor. A dressing table or vanity is the ultimate luxury in a romantic bedroom. Can't you just picture the Victorian or Renassiance woman sitting at her dressing table primping for an evening of flirting and dancing with her numerous beaus?

Lighting is Soft, Soothing and Romantic
No harsh overhead lighting is allowed in the romantic boudoir. If you do use overhead lighting, be sure to have a dimmer installed to soften the light. Table lamps with glass beaded shades cast a soft light reflected off the glass. You can also use shades in soft pastel colors to cast a pleasing glow. Light bulbs used in your lamps could be tinted in pinks, peach or golden yellow to carry out the romantic ambiance.
Other Items to Include in Decorating a Romantic Bedroom
Nothing says romance more than a crackling fireplace. If you are lucky enough to have one of these in your bedroom, you are indeed fortunate. However, in these modern times it is possible to install a free standing gas or electric fireplace if you want the romance a fire brings to your room.
If you have the room, a small bar refrigerator is a great asset. Keep it well stocked with wine, cheese, fruit. It's also a good idea to store your wine glasses there and they will always be perfectly chilled for that special time.
Breakfast or even coffee in bed is wonderful. I've had my coffee in bed every morning for 40 years and I couldn't start the day any other way. Even if you have to get up 30 minutes earlier in the morning, the time is well spent for the peace and calm it brings to your morning. You will find yourself able to handle the morning rush with much less stress and your day will go much more smoothly because you gave yourself time to relax rather than jumping out at the sound of the alarm clock. Bring a coffee pot into your room and keep your coffee and cream in the refrigerator also.
If you have breakfast in bed, be sure to get some bed trays that have legs on them. Trying to balance a tray on your lap is not fun and takes away from enjoying this experience.
Don't forget to include a good sound system. Soft romantic music is often just what is needed to help you unwind, relax and find the soothing mood you are searching for.
Don't Overlook a Scented Bedroom Atmosphere when Decorating a Romantic Bedroom
If you love scents, there are many ways available to please your sense of smell. Men enjoy sandelwood and clean nature scents. Lavender is a soothing scent and wii help you sleep well. Check out interesting ways to scent your home for more info about using scent to please your senses.
Flowers also play a major role in romantic bedroom decor. Small trees, green houseplants as well as cut flowers all add to developing the look of a romantic bedroom.
